Man due in court on murder charge

A man has been charged with murder after an alleged attack outside a pub.

Alan Brown, aged 45, of New Tredegar, died on Monday after the incident outside the Tredegar Arms Hotel, in Morgan Street, Tredegar, at 10.45pm on Sunday.

A 25-year-old man from Abertysswg has been charged with murder and was due to appear before Caerphilly Magistrates today.

Gwent Police had also arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of murder, but he has been released on bail. A 19-year-old Ebbw Vale man and a 21-year-old man from Tredegar had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in connection with the incident, but all three have now been released on bail.
