Is play area at park really PC?

WITH reference to Charles Gold’s letter (Viewpoints April 1), it is heartening to learn that he is delighted with the fact that the planting in Cyncoed Gardens is to be improved.

We are puzzled, however, by his remark that the new play area is “politically correct”. Children’s play areas have featured uncontroversially in Cardiff’s parks since before the PC concept was invented.

The positioning of the play area was carefully considered in order to leave the maximum area of “natural” park.

We visited Sovereign Chase park on April 2 and found a small quantity of broken glass was cleared up immediately.
