Beach hut sold for a bargain £70,000

A BEACH hut with views over Cardigan Bay was sold at auction yesterday for its guide price of £70,000.

Made of corrugated sheeting and wood, measuring just 4m by 2.7m, the hut is on a sand dune at the highly-sought after location of Abersoch, on the Lln Peninsula, and does not have electricity or water.

The new owner, who has asked to remain anonymous, was said to have landed a good deal.

“Compared to huts we sold last year for £75,000 this one was quite cheap,” said Martin Lewthwaite, a senior manager with the selling agents Beresford Adams.

He said the buyer knew it could only be used for “bathing and sitting on the beach”.

The hut was part of a mixed lot of 18 properties – at locations ranging from Wrexham to the Lln, sold by the company at an auction at Llandudno.
