JUST like Prince Charming tracked down Cinderella using her shoe, police plan to bring a burglar to justice after he left a trainer at the scene of his crime.
Police are investigating a burglary at Heol y Nant, Baglan, in Port Talbot, at 3.30am on Saturday.
The burglar entered the house through an insecure door and made a search of the property but was then disturbed by the occupant. As he attempted to flee he tripped, dropping a wallet he had stolen and losing one of his trainers. A mountain bike was also located outside the property which had been left against a lamppost.
Police are carrying out forensic tests on the bike, wallet and the size-nine Lacoste trainer to identify the suspect, who is described as male, white, 5ft 7in tall and of skinny build with cropped hair. He was wearing a tracksuit top. It is thought DNA tests on the sweaty trainer could lead police directly to the suspect.
