SHOPPING centre bosses went back to school to create an educational garden as part of a scheme to give something back to the community.
Managers from St David’s Shopping Centre visited St Helen’s Primary School, Caerphilly, and spent two days building the new interactive garden for pupils.
The garden is designed to give the schoolchildren an area where they can play while learning about their environment.
Features of the garden include a totem pole, a weather station, a bug trap door for insects to live in and willow bongo drum racks.
The shopping centre’s annual team away day is always designed to help with community projects.
Shopping centre director Steven Madeley said: “It’s a good way for the whole team to pull together, have fun and give something back to our shoppers at the same time.
“The educational garden at St Helen’s Primary School is a great idea.
“We thoroughly enjoyed helping to create it and I know the children will spend many happy hours in the garden, learning while having fun.”
