Lottery cash pays for pupils to take screen test

YOUNG film makers have been given the opportunity to produce their own movies after winning funding from a National Lottery initiative.

First Light Movies awarded £25,000 to two groups of Cardiff pupils who impressed with their ideas.

They will work with animation studio Cinetig to produce two short films.

A group of five- and six-year-olds from Ysgol Pwll Coch Primary School will make a film called School Days, looking at what Victorian school life was like. Pupils aged 14 to 16 at Ysgol Plasmawr High School will make One Stop Shop about the changes they have seen at Gwalia general store.
