Mum’s struggle may head for big screen

THE story of a South Wales mother’s fight to help her son overcome cerebral palsy could be made into a film.

Cardiff mum Nia Wyn is in talks with film companies about bringing her first book, Blue Sky July, to the big screen.

Published by Bridgend company, Seren, it tells of her heart-rending struggles to give a normal life to her son, Joe, now nine, and rapidly became a publishing sensation.

It has been serialised in two national newspapers and was book of the month on two radio stations as well as at WH Smith, and is due to be published in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the USA.

Nia said: “It’s wonderful. We’re at the very early stages of the talks, so I’ll know more in a couple of weeks.”
