“It’s disgusting. It’s just a birthday party. Fun used to be just fun. You had some friends round and that was it.”
Martin Roberts, 54, from Creigiau.
“That is a bit over the top. We just used to play very childish party games. But a wedding costs £20,000 these days.”
Cantonian High student Abigail Taylor, 18, from Tongwynlais.
“It’s a lot of money. I think that will change though with everything that is happening in the money markets. I think it will go back to the way it used to be.”
Retired grandad Ralph Williams, 69, of Gelligaer.
“I was never much of a party person. I always had home parties except when we were on holiday in France. It does sound a lot of money.”
Student Aaron Watts, 20, from High Meadow, Abercarn.
“It’s a long time since I organised a children’s party, and I certainly never paid that! I think £150 is too much. They all go to places like Jungle Jacks. I could never have afforded to do that.”
Beryl Surringer, 74, a great grandmother from Porthcawl.
