A DRUNKEN boyfriend who damaged the windows of his girlfriend’s house has been given a conditional discharge.
Caerphilly Magistrates heard Vincent Cook smashed a patio window after having Christmas dinner at his girlfriend’s house.
Following the row he returned the next day to reclaim his wallet. But when he was denied entry he threw a brick through a window.
After being arrested he told police he had been drinking and had taken prescribed drugs on both occasions, including tablets for depression and painkillers.
Cook, 42, of Bevan Rise, Trethomas, admitted two charges of causing criminal damage to windows. He said he had paid to have them repaired.
Paul Lewis, defending, said despite the damage the couple are still together.
Mr Lewis was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs.
