Conman strike ‘wearing fire service-type jacket’

POLICE are appealing for information after a thief stole £200 in a distraction burglary.

The thief conned his way into a house in Solway Avenue in Pengam, Cardiff, at around 5pm on Sunday claiming he was collecting for the Scouts. After the occupant gave him £4, he left and the victim then noticed the money missing.

The thief was white, aged 25 to 30, of medium build, around 5ft 10in, clean shaven and had short dyed brown or red hair.

He was wearing a fire service-type jacket.
