Be a Ninian Park star

CANCER Research Wales is organising a fundraising five-a-side football tournament – with a difference.

The top two teams from the tournament, at Powerleague off Manor Way, Whitchurch, Cardiff, on April 20, will battle it out in a penalty shoot-out on the pitch at Ninian Park in front of 18,000 supporters during half-time of Cardiff City’s last game of the season on May 4.

Former Bluebirds star Andy Legg, who had cancer himself, is supporting the event. He said: “This is a great opportunity to have a fun day with friends at the knockout tournament, with a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience what it feels like to be a professional player in front of 18,000 people.”

n The knockout tournament will take place between 11am and 4.30pm on Sunday, April 20. To enter a team, call 029 2031 6976.
