A SCHOOL has been boosted by a £2,000 donation to improve the lives of children.
Special school Ysgol Erw’r Delyn, in Penarth, will be using the money to buy vital equipment which will be used to benefit all of its pupils.
The £2,000 was raised by the Hilton Hotel, in Cardiff city centre, as part of the Hilton in the Community Foundation.
Headteacher Michael Farrell said: “The money raised by the Hilton Foundation will go towards purchasing essential equipment and enriching the lives of the pupils who attend the school.
“The best thing about the charity is that it aims to help young people and education.”
The city hotel raised more than £30,000 last year for the Foundation mainly through its annual ball and summer fashion show as well as through regular donations and payroll giving.
General manager Mark Walker said: “The Foundation is a very real charity helping improve the lives of others. Our head concierge, Peter Jones, knows better than others about the good work of the Foundation – his son, Alfie, attends Ysgol Erw’r Delyn in Penarth and has directly benefited from the financial support.”
