Woman suffers daylight robbery in city street

POLICE are looking for a man who attacked a woman and stole her handbag as she walked down a busy Cardiff street in broad daylight.

The 22-year-old was walking along Albany Road, Roath, talking on her mobile phone when a man grabbed her face and forced her to the ground.

He ran off with her handbag and was chased by a passer-by who caught him and managed to retrieve the handbag. Unfortunately the attacker did manage to escape with the purse from the bag.

The attacker, who struck on Saturday at 1.20pm, is described as white, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins, of medium build, in his late teens to early 20s, short cropped blonde hair and was wearing a baggy green hooded top, blue jeans and white trainers.
