A MAN accused of selling forged signatures of sports stars including Steven Gerrard and Jonny Wilkinson told a court yesterday he believed the autographs were genuine.
Graeme Walker, 45, said he had checked the signatures with other examples and compared them with similar items for sale on websites and in magazines.
Walker, owner of the Sporting Icons shop where some of the merchandise was on sale, said former business partner Faisal Madani, 43, had supplied him with the memorabilia.
Both Walker, of Mountain View Close, Connah’s Quay, Deeside and Madani, of Grange Road, Stockport, Greater Manchester, deny the charges.
The case continues.
