Care worker denies nursing home rape

A CARE worker yesterday denied raping a woman patient at a nursing home.

Gareth Jones, 22, pictured, pleaded not guilty to raping the woman at the Mountains nursing home at Libanus near Brecon last February.

Jones also pleaded not guilty to two further offences against the woman – wounding with intent and unlawful wounding.

Jones, from Maes-y-Berllan, Trecastle, was given conditional bail by the judge at Cardiff Crown Court, ordering him not to speak to prosecution witnesses or visiting the care home.

The trial is planned to go ahead in June.
