Fans can stand for season

CARDIFF City have been given the go-ahead to retain standing areas at Ninian Park for the 2008-2009 season.

That will be the final season before the Bluebirds move to their new stadium, but the go-ahead for supporters to keep standing on the terracing and at the Grange End still came as a surprise.

“If we had not been given the go-ahead, we could not afford to put the extra seats in and, in addition, it would have also reduced our capacity by 4,000 or 5,000 spectators,” said club chairman Peter Ridsdale
