CARDIFF City have been given the go-ahead to retain standing areas at Ninian Park for the 2008-2009 season.
That will be the final season before the Bluebirds move to their new stadium, but the go-ahead for supporters to keep standing on the Bob Bank terracing and at the Grange End still came as a pleasant surprise.
“The Football licensing authority have done something unique by giving us another season of standing at Ninian Park,” said club chairman Peter Ridsdale.
“If we had not been given the go-ahead for standing again, we could not afford to put the extra seats in and, in addition, it would have also reduced our capacity considerably by 4,000 or 5,000 spectators.”
