AN ELECTRICAL fault has been blamed for a fire in a first-floor flat’s kitchen.
Firefighters from Cardiff Central and Penarth were called to tackle flames on Penarth Road, near the junction with North Clive Street, at 3.20pm yesterday.
The two crews spent 45 minutes making the property safe and a spokeswoman for the fire service said it did not appear that the damage had spread beyond the kitchen. Smoke was seen coming from an upstairs windows and two firefighters used breathing gear to enter the building but no-one had to be evacuated.
