Bracelet girl Sarika to attend new school

THE Sikh schoolgirl in the middle of a bracelet row will attend a different school while she awaits a High Court ruling.

Sarika Singh, 14, has been excluded from Aberdare Girls’ School for refusing to remove her Kara bangle.

Sarika claims the school is infringing her human rights by demanding she remove her religious bangle, but the school says wearing jewellery is against its code of conduct.

Pending the High Court decision, Sarika will go to Mountain Ash Comprehensive School, which is happy for her to wear the controversial bangle.
