Murder victim remembered

MURDERED swimming coach Lavern Ritch was today being given a posthumous award for his contribution to fitness.

The 37-year-old’s family were collecting the Lavern Ritch Inspiration In Fitness Award from Fitness Wales, the governing body for exercise.

Lavern, a fitness instructor and swimming coach from Fairwater, Cardiff, was killed in New Jersey, USA, while on holiday in August.

The award will now be given in Lavern’s memory.
