THE COUPLE Louise Kear, 28, a deputy headteacher, and Tony Williams, 26, a plumber. Louise grew up in Victoria Park, Cardiff, but the couple now live in Surrey.

THE PLACE City Hall, Cardiff.

HOW THEY MET Louise said: “We met on holiday in Kavos. We were staying in the same apartment block and we just got on straight away. When we came home we kept in touch, as friends first. After taking it in turns to go and see each other we decided it was more than just friendship.”

THE PROPOSAL “It wasn’t the usual proposal. I went to New Zealand for two weeks and fell in love with it there so we talked about going travelling. Then we realised it was going travelling or having a house. In the end we decided we’d get married instead.”

THE WEDDING “It was brilliant. The perfect day. I knew exactly what I wanted and with my mum’s help, it all came together. I was always going to get married in Cardiff – I’m a Cardiff girl. Tony’s got four nephews, all English, so they wore England rugby kits and my nephew is Welsh so he wore the Welsh kit. We had lots of Wales and England themed balloons. It was great.”
