THE Millennium Stadium has come up trumps and honoured a group of Welsh soldiers in the best way possible.
The 10 young men from the 1st Battalion Royal Welsh, who have been putting their lives on the line in Afghanistan, dreamed of celebrating their homecoming this week by watching Wales play Scotland in the Six Nations in two weeks’ time.
But they couldn’t get a single ticket for the game, which is sold out.
Millennium Stadium bosses have done a wonderful thing in not only inviting them to the game, but making them Guard of Honour.
They have recognised the sacrifice these boys are making every day.
At a time when a ban on wearing their uniforms in public is to be lifted, these brave soldiers can wear them to this match with pride.
And nobody deserves it more.
