Russian cold snap could bring a dusting of snow
A SUDDEN cold snap could bring a chance of snow tomorrow morning.
Temperatures are due to drop significantly today due to cold air coming across the North Sea from Eastern Europe and Russia.
By the end of the day, temperatures will drop to 4C and tonight areas away from the coast will experience frost with temperatures as low as –3C. Temperatures are predicted to stay above freezing in Cardiff and across coastal areas.
If snow does reach South Wales, it is due to fall tomorrow morning around 9am.
A spokesman for the PA Weather Centre said: “The further east you are towards England there will be a higher chance of snow.
“It may give a dusting to the hills but on low ground and in the towns it is not likely to settle.
“There will be around one centimetre of snowfall at most.
“By lunchtime tomorrow most will be falling as drizzle and light rain and it will be less cold as the day goes on.”
The maximum temperature in Cardiff tomorrow will be 4C, but inland temperatures may not climb above freezing all day.
By the weekend, the cold spell will be over with heavy rain throughout Friday night and stronger winds and showers on Saturday coming back in from the west.
Temperatures on Saturday are due to reach 9C and may hit 10C on Sunday.
