Plaid councillor says he’s standing down

A SOUTH Wales councillor today announced he will be standing down at the next election.

Plaid Cymru’s Geraint Day, who represents Treforest on Rhondda Cynon Taf council, will not seek re-election in May.

Blaming work commitments, Coun Day said serving the ward and its voters since 2004 had been “an honour and a privilege”.

He added: “Throughout all I have attempted to put the interests of the residents of the village above all else.”
