Housing plan is close to approval at last

COUNCILLORS are to visit a site earmarked for a multi-million pound housing development before deciding whether to approve the proposals.

Barratt Homes Ltd wants to build 77 terraced, semi-detached and detached houses and 24 flats on the old Llwydcoed Brickworks near Aberdare.

Rhondda Cynon Taf council agreed homes could be developed nearly 17 years ago, but only now are members close to backing plans.

Residents fear there will be more traffic if the plan succeeds.
