Shock figures highlighted by the nation’s chief medical officer show almost four out of 10 mothers-to-be light up at some point during their pregnancy.
And more than a fifth smoke throughout the nine months, leading to concerns about health and the message this sends children today.

Council tax ‘to take the strain’
FEARS of a public spending squeeze with the knock-on effect of a rise in council tax were raised last night by Opposition AMs.
Their concern pre- empts today’s announcement of the Welsh Assembly Government’s draft Budget – the first under the One Wales Labour and Plaid Cymru coalition.
