Airport’s push start ban’s just plane crazy

BOSSES at Cardiff Airport have banned car park attendants from giving motorists a push start when they break down.

A Cardiff Airport spokesman said staff are able to provide jump starts but workers were no longer able to help with push starts due to “the risks attached”.

The news follows a similar ban at Manchester Airport and Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

But the move has been blasted by the Association of British Drivers.

A spokesman said: “It would be a matter of normal humanity to decide to help someone who is experiencing difficulty. The employer should just keep out of it and allow people to make their own judgement.

“It’s incredible and I’m afraid it’s more political correctness gone mad.

“You don’t often get people ordered by their bosses not to help.

“Their customer service obviously doesn’t extend to those who drive to the airport.”
