FORMER Spice Girl Mel C has revealed how her £1m Welsh country home helps to keep her feet on the ground.
The multi-millionaire star could be excused for splashing out her £22.5m fortune on a life of excess.
But the singer says she has no desire to enjoy the same level of fame enjoyed by Posh and Becks.
Mel, 33, who lives in Catbrook, Monmouthshire, recently caught up with Posh for a shopping trip to Madrid, but says the constant chase of photographers left her dizzy.
"I'd forgotten what it's like being stalked by paparazzi and the state of your fringe being world headline news," she said. "I thought: 'This would be fun for about a week'. But it's exhausting."
Instead, Mel says she prefers to relax at her Welsh home which she shares with her property developer partner Tom Starr.
"My boyfriend and I were looking for somewhere wild and unspoilt that wasn't overcrowded," she said.
"We travelled from London where I also have a home, and came across Ross-on-Wye.
"A little further on, we found Monmouthshire and fell in love with the area and felt at home - it was fate.
"We have friends in the village and we go to the local pub - we were so lucky to find our house and we have been here for three years.
"The house is very old. It is made of Welsh stone and is very beautiful and we are still learning about it.
"It had been lived in by a family for a long time, they obviously cared about it and there are some great old trees in the garden. It's quite secluded, although it is near the village."
But Mel may soon be forced to pop out of the house if the Spice Girls follow Take That's lead and reform.
She said: "There are always rumours but at the moment I don't think time is on our side as Emma's pregnant and Melanie B's had a baby.
"We have said we'd consider something one-off for charity, but it's obviously not going to be any time this year."
