Time to show off your flower power

DO you have an eye for colour and green fingers itching to get to work?

Gardening enthusiasts across the Caerphilly borough are being encouraged to show off their skills by taking part in this year’s In Bloom contest.

The annual event is organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council to recognise the colourful efforts made each year by people who lovingly tend their window boxes and hanging baskets.

The Caerphilly In Bloom competition is open to everyone – individuals, businesses, schools and even whole streets who go that extra mile to brighten up their area.

Categories include domestic dwellings, best street; best High Street premises; best pub, hotel or guest house; best school; best allotments and best wildlife garden.

The competition is open to anyone who lives within the borough. All entries must be received by July 1. Call 01495 235463 for an entry form.

The In Bloom committee is also seeking new sponsors. If you are interested in sponsoring a class or a section, call Steve Trew on 01495 235467.
