Councillors blast pavilion vandals

A FIRE at a football pavilion in Llanbradach has been deemed a ‘disgraceful act of vandalism’ by two Caerphilly councillors.

The single-story building in Llanbradach Park was set ablaze on April 4, leaving it completely gutted.

Councillor Colin Mann said: “We totally condemn this disgraceful act of vandalism. Tens of thousands of pounds have been spent on improving facilities in the park and this is the last thing we need.

“There seems to be an idiot minority who get delight from wrecking things.

“We would urge anyone who has any information which could help track down the culprits to contact the police so that these people can be brought to justice.”

Gwent Police confirmed they are treating the fire as deliberate which gutted the pavilion.
