FORTY primary school pupils have passed an advanced cycling course – with 100 per cent success.
The pupils of Goetre Infants’ School year six class scored full marks by all achieving Level Two during the Cycling Experience scheme run by Merthyr Local Education Authority and Merthyr Council.
PE coordinator Jane Anthony said the pupils, aged 10 and 11, were really put through their paces.
“Two instructors tested them on the road, checking their knowledge of rules and safety.
“We’re confident they can ride safely - it’s a great achievement.”
Parents who want to sign up their child for a new after-school cycling club can call Jane on 01685 722161 or ask to speak to her at school.
