WITH Christmas fast approaching an increasing number of parcels are being sent.
And South Wales Police are warning residents to be aware of a scam designed to cash in on vulnerable people.
The scam, which originated in Belize, involves a card being posted through residents doors apparently from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service).
It claims that it has been unable to deliver a parcel, and that the resident needs to contact them on 0906 661 1911 – which is a premium rate number.
Do not call this number.
You will simply hear a recorded message – and will immediately be billed £15 for the privilege.
If you do receive a card with these details, please contact the Royal Mail Fraud department on 0207 239 6655 or visit the website www.phonepayplus.org.uk
