POLITICIANS have expressed concerns that Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has not made any progress for two years on the regeneration of the former Phurnacite Plant site at Abercwmboi.
Plaid Cymru AM Leanne Wood met local councillor Howard Davies to discuss the situation.
“It is totally unacceptable - there has been two years of inactivity on site,” said Ms Wood.
But she did add that Howard Davies, as the local councillor, is doing an excellent job of highlighting concerns.
“Priority must now be given to transform the land into an area of mixed use, bringing highly-skilled jobs and ensuring good quality of life for residents,” she said.
Both Ms Wood and Chris Frank AM have pledged to bring up the case with Rhondda Cynon taf Council and the Welsh Assembly.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is looking into the claims and have promised to respond to Ms Wood personally.
