Are Lib-Dems a total waste?

I HAVE often wondered what the point of the Liberal Democrats party is and what political role do they really play.

During any election, I feel a vote for the Liberals is a wasted vote and is as good as a vote for the ruling party.

Am I right in my thinking?

In the Welsh Assembly, I believe they are constantly being squashed by Plaid, Tories and Labour.

And again in Westminster, I feel the Lib-Dems are squeezed by Labour and the Tories.
