PARTY-GOERS will be flocking to Swansea’s Singleton Park on Saturday, June 14 for 11 hours of clubbing chaos.
Escape Into The Park attracts more than 20,000 dance fans every year and is recognised nationally as the biggest event in the Welsh clubbing calendar.
Following last year’s sell-out success, event organisers have gone all out to attract some of the hottest names in the industry.
Headlining the 2008 festival are accomplished electronic music veterans Underworld, who are looking forward to playing in front of a Welsh audience for the first time in years.
Former Cardiff College students Karl Hyde and Rick Smith will go down in dance folklore as the creators of seminal tune Born Slippy.
The dance marathon starts at midday and takes place across four arenas and a main outdoor stage.
Event organiser James Algate is anticipating a day to remember.
“This year we’ve got the biggest booking that we have ever had,” he said.
“Underworld created one of the biggest dance anthems of the past 20 years, and they’re playing exclusively for us in Wales.
“It’s a bit of a coup for us to have them. We’ve also got Ferry Corsten, one of the biggest DJs in the world.
“Escape Into The Park is the biggest dance festival in Wales. It’s a beautiful site, with Gower in the background.
“It’s very much a Welsh festival with local acts playing as well.
“The forecast is very good for this summer, but come rain or shine we can put on a great event.
“It’s the biggest day out for Swansea and South Wales, and it’s the biggest party in a field!
“If you’re going to go out one day in a year, then this should be the day to do it.”
General admission is £41.50 plus booking fee. VIP tickets are available for £57.50. Visit Jungle records or www.escapefestival.com for more information.
