‘Ministerial’ apology

ANOTHER election leaflet has been causing a stir – this time in Brackla.

Labour candidate Bill Bennett was furious to read that his Tory rival Matthew Voisey had described himself as a “cabinet minister.”

Coun Voisey said it was a typing error, but Coun Bennett said it showed he had “delusions of grandeur”.

Carwyn Jones AM said Coun Voisey was not a minister and should not describe himself as such.

“When ministers are appointed to the Assembly they have to take an oath of allegiance before a judge,” he said.

“I wonder whether Matthew Voisey has done this?

“On the basis of what he has said, it makes Cheryl Green the Prime Minister of Bridgend!

But Coun Voisey hit back: “Cheryl would do a better job than the Prime Minister we’ve got. Even his own party don’t want him!

“Carwyn Jones should get real as he will be looking for a new job after the election at this rate.”
