Foul play called over park theft

TODDLERS have been left high and dry after a see-saw was stolen from their play park.

Residents phoned Coun Mel Nott to tell him of the theft from the park, at The Green in Sarn, and he reported it to South Wales Police.

“They would have needed specialist equipment to undo the bolt and take the sea-saw away,” said Coun Nott.

“It’s unbelievable that someone would come and take it.

“What use would it be to anyone without the base as well?

“And I wouldn’t have thought it was an easy thing to conceal.

“It’s very disappointing to see an integral part of the park has gone missing like this.”

A large bolt secured the see-saw to its metal base but that was removed during the theft last week.

“It would have taken some lifting and carrying,” said Coun Nott.

“Whoever took it would have had to have specialist equipment. But in the end it’s the kids who suffer.”
