We stand by our view, Coun Evans

I REFER to Coun Bill Evans’ latest tirade against the Labour Party (Gazette, April 10). We stand by our report in the Llynfi Labour News, which has incurred the wrath of Bill Evans.

You would have thought that Bill Evans would have been more sympathetic to the benefit of the current Meals on Wheels service to many of his fellow pensioners in our community.

He chaired the meeting on December 12, 2007 where the different options were discussed and to quote the minutes: ‘The Committee noted the report. Members decided not to make any recommendations…” This is a matter of public record; he did not oppose or criticise the proposed changes. After the outcry over these proposals, he then jumped on the bandwagon to oppose.

This is another example of saying one thing in Maesteg but doing something else in Bridgend. I, for one, will not be silenced in promoting and protecting the interests of the people of Maesteg by highlighting these issues. The facts speak for themselves.
