Hard work in class pays off for award winners

PUPILS at Cynffig Comprehensive School have been rewarded for a year’s hard work and endeavour.

An annual awards ceremony recognised the achievements of all age groups.

The Friends of Cynffig Association awarded book tokens to boys and girls showing the greatest endeavour and academic achievement during the last school year.

The school welcomed the parents of Sara Jayne Andrews to present her memorial cup for endeavour in GCSE Health and Social Care.

Danni Cook and Danielle Kinsey were the lucky recipients.

The mother of Wyn Ffrancon-Davies, widow of the late Reverend Ffrancon-Davies, also attended to distribute memorial awards.

The event concluded with the inaugural Head of Year awards, presented by new headteacher Susan Davies. Outgoing assistant headteacher and event organiser, Alan Thomas, was also recognised for his 35 years’ service to the school.
