Heulwen is a stroke of genius

I AM writing to the Gazette to sing the praises of someone who featured in this paper a few weeks ago, the artist Heulwen Phillips.

I recently purchased one of her prints from Jan’s in Tredegar.

It is a beautiful, thought-provoking picture which caught my eye and became something I knew I had to buy.

I must confess that I do not know very much about art, but I do think that her work is inspirational and that she has an exceptional talent, and also having met her I can say she is a lovely and very grounded lady who I truly believe has a “gift”.

I am not writing this in order to promote her work since her art speaks for itself.

However, I think that every home in Tredegar should be displaying at least one piece of her work, not just because of the exceptional quality but also because she is “one of our own”!
