WITH all of the FA Cup final talk in the air, I recently found a very interesting newspaper cutting in my late mother’s possessions.
It stated: “Former Bolton winger Ted Vizard has died at his Wolverhampton home aged 84. Vizard, a Welsh international, played in Bolton’s FA Cup-winning side of 1923 and 1926.
“Cogan-born Ted Vizard, outside left for Bolton Wanderers, played 22 times for Wales, his international career spanning the years from 1911 to 1927.”
He was one of the greats of Welsh soccer. My maternal grandmother was a Vizard and I was wondering if there are any of Ted Vizard’s family living in the Cardiff area, or if someone from the Welsh Football Association has any memories of him?
