THREE students have won a rare award for their exceptional college work.
Gemma Jones, Donna McCormick and Kyle Stanton, who attend Bridgend College, were among just 10 people in Wales to scoop the City & Guilds Medal for Excellence.
Gemma is taking a Level 2 NVQ in ITQ, Donna is working towards a Level 3 Diploma in design and craft while Kyle is taking a Level 2 certificate in basic plumbing studies.
City & Guilds, an awarding body for work-related qualifications, has awarded the medals every year since 1879.
The Medals for Excellence programme rewards talented people who have displayed exceptional standards as students or educational professionals, and whose portfolio and achievements put them a cut above the rest.
The City & Guilds judging panel recognised the three students for their determination and originality in their coursework and that they have achieved very high standards.
