Exhibition to throw light on town’s life

LIFE in the centre of the Barry over the last quarter of a century is the focus of a new photographic exhibition opening this month.

Organised by the Barry Citizens’ Action Group, the event will be held at the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Barry Town Hall Exhibition Space from March 25 to April 19. It is open every Tuesday to Saturday, from 11am to 4pm.

Looking at life in and around the town hall, including King Square and Central Park, the exhibition also features photographs dating back 100 years, especially significant given that the building celebrates its centenary on April 22.

The exhibition includes images taken by group members, the local press, and donated items.

Action group secretary Dilys Colbourne said: “The area has such a colourful history and, in recent times, the community has witnessed with great interest the rebirth of the town hall, King Square and Central Park.”
