Council to decide on plaque for heroes

THE threat of vandalism and theft means that two “forgotten” World War I heroes are unlikely to have a bronze plaque erected in their memory.

Instead, the two soldiers from Penarth are likely to be commemorated with a plaque made from granite, which is less attractive to vandals.

The town council is to honour them 90 years on with a plaque. Councillors will meet on Thursday to decide whether to have a granite plaque.
