Young to be asked for views on crime

YOUNGSTERS, police and residents are to get together to find solutions to problems of youth annoyance.

Barry councillor Anthony Powell, a former chairman of the Vale of Glamorgan Council has called a special Pact-style meeting to bring the groups together.

The meeting will be at Barry Comprehensive School on February 26.

Coun Powell, who represents the Dyfan ward, said: “Every time I attend a Pact meeting the main issue of concern is youth annoyance and anti-social behaviour. What we don’t get most of the time is the views of the young people. That is why I am proposing setting up a youth Pact for under 18s so that young people can tell us how they see the problem and what they think can be done about it.”
