EXPERTS are to visit Barry’s under-threat Theatre Royal cinema to assess it for listing as a building of special architectural or historic interest.
The visit by the team from Cadw, the National Assembly’s historic environment service, was ordered by Rhodri Glyn Thomas, Minister for Heritage.
The cinema is set to close on April 10. The future of the building is unclear, although demolition to make way for housing could be a likely option.
