Council is backing wheely good skate park proposal

AN SOS by skateboarders in rural Vale of Glamorgan has been answered by councillors.

A small skateboard park will be created at a play area in St Bride’s Major, following a campaign by local group, SOS Skaters.

The facility, which will be owned and managed by the council, will be for skateboard enthusiasts, in-line skaters and scooter and BMX bike riders from the St Bride’s, Ogmore by Sea and Southerndown areas.

Residents had signed a petition supporting the proposal.

Councillor Rob Curtis, said:

“It will be a safe and challenging environment for the youngsters to pursue their hobby or sport.”
