A UNIQUE project to help parents and individuals, including those from ethnic minority groups, to get back to work is going from strength to strength.
Aiming to remove the barriers many people face when seeking to return to education, training and employment, the Genesis project is part of an all-Wales initiative offering support, advice and guidance, and free or subsidised childcare in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Thanks to the project, a group of women from the Muslim community in Barry have been able to develop their IT skills.
The Genesis Project provided the women with a mobile creche and transport to enable them to continue their studies at Barry College’s annex at Gladstone Road School.
They now hope to access further training and eventually gain employment.
Councillor Margaret Alexander, leader of the Vale council said the project allowed women to build brighter futures.
