THE Cowbridge Youth Centre has reached new heights thanks to help from inmates.
Launched by Vale of Glamorgan AM Jane Hutt a new climbing boulder wall is the culmination of a project which started two years ago.
Rural Vale youth development officer Tina Simmons, who is based at the Cowbridge centre, said: “The success of the project was thanks to a number of organisations including the Youth Offending Service and businesses, some of whom provided building materials free or at cost price. However, most of the labour used in constructing the foundations was sourced through a partnership with Parc Prison, in Bridgend. Without their assistance, the project would never have been completed within budget or on time.”
