Motorists cut free

RUSH-HOUR traffic on one of the main roads into Barry was thrown into chaos following a head-on collision between two cars.

Firefighters from Barry, Penarth and Cardiff were called to the scene at the McDonald’s roundabout, on Cardiff Road, Barry, at 4.50pm. Police closed the road for more than an hour while firefighters cut a man out of one car and a woman out of the other. They were both taken to hospital but their injuries are not life-threatening.
